Our client is a leading provider of products and services for a variety of agricultural sectors, including broad-acre cropping, dairy, pasture, horticulture, cropping, sheep, beef, and lifestyle farming. They offer a broad range of products and expert agronomic services, helping farmers to achieve the best outcomes for their businesses.
About the Role:
We are seeking an Agronomist to join our Rochester team. You’ll play a critical role in guiding and mentoring our emerging agronomist, along with our Senior Agronomist. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead from the front, develop relationships with clients, and deliver tailored agronomic advice to drive their success.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Visiting client farms to assess needs and provide product recommendations
• Identifying opportunities for new product introductions and support clients farming operations
• Supporting and mentoring the junior agronomist, helping them grow in their role
• Providing in-store support and assisting colleagues to ensure high levels of service are maintained and assist with knowledge on cropping market and products
• Managing client relationships and delivering expert advice on Seed, Agricultural chemicals, fertiliser and pest management.
Requirements
Education / Experience / Skills:
• Extensive agronomy experience, with focus on broadacre cropping and pasture and a proven track record in the industry
• A strong ability to build relationships with a wide range of clients
• Leadership skills to guide and mentor a young agronomist
• On-farm sales experience is highly desirable, with existing clientele in the area a plus
• A valid driver’s licence
• Qualifications in agronomy, agriculture, or related fields are preferred
